Long before the dawn of recorded history (I mean, we're talking about more than twenty years ago now), primitive peoples lived very different lives from those we live now. These were agricultural times, and, as one might guess, agricultural matters, such as planting and the harvest, ruled their every waking moment. As one might expect, such matters also controlled their times of relaxation. Their festivals were scheduled to coincide with the astronomical events they used to determine what time of year it was, and therefore what they should be doing then.
Some time around twenty years ago (accounts vary), a small group decided to reclaim the custom of marking the summer solstice with feasting and merriment. And Plastic Forks was born. It has been an uninterrupted tradition ever since. |
